Capex purchases are depreciated year-to-year, so carrying out large sum forecasted works allow for deductions that provide a relative consistency and future growth and costs can be forecasted accordingly. Opex should generally have a tendency to stay relatively constant, however companies can encounter spikes in operating costs due to a sudden surge in end-user demand which can drastically alter OpEx month-to-month or year-to-year.
